Secret Steak Seasoning

I call this steak seasoning, but I honestly sprinkle it on anything that needs a dash of extra flavor. It will keep for several months in a sealed container.

1 cup kosher salt

1/4 to 1/2 cup fresh garlic cloves, peeled

1/4+ black pepper, freshly ground

Preheat the oven to 170 to 180 degrees (basically as low as it will go and still come on).

Add the salt and garlic cloves to a food processor and process until it forms the appearance of moist sand – about 20 seconds or so. Then spread the mixture onto a parchment paper lined backing sheet in a thin layer. Bake the sheet in the oven for about an 60 to 75 minutes until it forms a crisp sheet. Return the garlic-salt mixture to the food processor and add the pepper. Process these dry ingredients until it forms the consistency of fine corn meal. Store in a sealed jar. You can adjust the amount of pepper to your liking.
