Although technically you can make this recipe in any type of oven safe dish, this “ranch style” version is impressive in a cast iron skillet. Cast iron retains heat very well which keeps the chocolate and marshmallows melted until they are all gone.
1 can sweetened condensed milk
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 oz milk chocolate chips
1 1/2 bags of giant puffed marshmallows
assorted cookies – graham crackers, peanut butter filled, whatever you like
Preheat the home oven to 400 degrees F.
Add the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips to the skillet and spread evenly. Starting at the edge, place the marshmallows in a circular arrangement until the skillet is completely covered.
Bake in the oven until the tops are golden brown. Warning: when this starts to happen, be ready. They can burn quickly.
Serve with a big spoon and the cookies.
